Dollhouse
It is well known that Midd13m4n lives under a rock. From time to time, though, new stuff does filter into my life. Most recently I’ve discovered the beauty of hulu.com. I’ve never really been the type of person who builds his life around television programs, but there are programs that I do enjoy, notably “House” and the “Simpsons”. Thanks to hulu.com, I’ve been able to get mostly current with those programs. I say “mostly” because they are a week behind what has been broadcast, and they only post the 5 most recent episodes. Good enough
I’m also a Joss Whedon fan. He has an uncanny ability to cast some of the most incredibly attractive women! I could never get into Buffy or Angel, but I really enjoyed “Firefly”. When I heard he had a new program, titled “Dollhouse” on FOX, I knew I had to check it out, but Friday nights at 9pm is one of many times that I simply refuse to be in front of a TV. Combine A + B. Yes, I am now able to watch “Dollhouse” on hulu, at pretty much any time I wish, and let me say that I am hooked.
“Dollhouse” is part sci-fi, part detective drama. Take an equal does of “Total Recall”, “Jail Break”, and any interesting snuff flick, and you’ve got the general idea. The “dolls” are simply people who have had their personality and memory erased, and just like with paper dolls, a new personality and memory can be overlaid onto the doll to provide “clients” with the ultimate in fantasy experience. In one sense, the ability to program a person with a completely new personality is intriguing, but to use that person as a human throw-around sex-toy takes simple prostitution into the realm of human-trafficking and sci-fi levels of manipulation. I’m not going to ruin any episode for you, but I am a HUGE fan. “Man on the Street” was a particularly excellent episode. Now if FOX can only not cancel it, I can continue to live “happily” ever after.
Drink more.
hhhhmmmmmmmm ……
Based on this synopsis, Rupe’s gonna have to check this out.
Rupe thought his was some sort of reality nonsense with airheaded blondes.
Go figger …..
Ruprecht’s last blog post..Happy Easter
Joss Whedon fans are the worst Fanboys at the SciFi/Pop Culture Conventions. They make trekkies look normal when they’re debating the Kirk’s decision to lead the landing party on planet QLV41. I don’t see his genius other than his “hot women” casting calls.
I really don’t know what I’d do if I could order up a hot chick with any personality I choose. Maybe a video-gaming nymphomaniac that has a ton of money. Is that too much to ask for?
DaVe: You know you wouldn’t have to order up a woman… You could order yourself a cute, ripped dude, and you could explore your deepest, darkest curiosities, and when it was all done, he wouldn’t remember. And you would have then tried everything. It sounds quite liberating, if you ask me. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
I’d remember, and there lies just one of many problems with your response. Why would anyone NOT order a woman??!? I’m not really down with the “dude” thing, but if you are curious, go right ahead. I’m sure there would be nothing wrong with that.
